The Great Middletown Scavenger Hunt
Date: May 19, 2012
It's a hunt! It's a race! It's a challenge! It's the Great Middletown Scavenger Hunt! Hunt for treasures and face challenges to move on to the finish. The first one back to the start with all challenges completed and treasures hunted wins! There will be a 1st, 2nd & 3rd cash prize winners. You may play solo or as a team. This event is free to the community!

You may also pre register by filling out a registration form . You may bring to the event, send via email, or mail to MRC, PO Box 234, Middletown, Md. 21769.
Details:
A map will be provided of the course and the “task” to be completed at each site.
Choose your route wisely to maximize your time.
After successful completion of each task your map will be stamped allowing you to move to your next stop.
Return to the MRC tent with your completed map. If you are the first, second or third to arrive back you win!
In the event of a tie we will having a drawing between the winners.
Great for families, for friends, or be a one-person show – all are welcome! FREE FOR ALL
Repurposed Art Contest

The Repurposed Art Contest is in recognition of Earth Day. The contest is open to all ages. Cash prizes will be awarded to the 1st - $100.00, 2nd - $75.00 and 3rd - $25.00 place winners. Art objects will be on display from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Results from the public vote will be announced and awarded at 4:00 PM. Download the registration form and mail it to:

May Festival Vendor Information/Application
The Middletown Recreation Council is planning for our 2nd annual May Festival for 2012. Please mark your calendars for May 19, 2012. We will be celebrating Earth Day at this event and featuring The Great Middletown Scavenger Hunt! The event will be located in historic Middletown, Maryland in the Middletown Community Park, 7628 Coblentz Rd, Middletown, Md.
We anticipate a large response for this event, and spaces will fill up quickly. We will be heavily advertising this event and the deadline for vendors to be put into advertisements is April 25th, 2012.

Want to be the one who starts off the fireworks at the Independence Day Celebration! We will have a raffle for starting the fireworks with a countdown and a push of a button. Tickets are $1.00 for 1 ticket, $5.00 for 10 tickets, and $10.00 for 25 tickets. Tickets will be sold at all spaghetti dinners, Egg Hunt, and May Festival. Drawing will be held at our last spaghetti dinner June 3rd, at 6:45 pm. All proceeds help support the Independence Day Celebration.

The Middletown Recreation Council meets the second Thursday of each month at the Middletown Primary School, 403 Franklin Street at 6:30 p.m. If you are interested in joining the MRC, please come to the meeting.

Anyone who would like to be a volunteer for the Middletown Recreation Council may come to our meetings every second Thursday of the month, 6:30 pm at the Primary School Recreation Center Room.
